This will include use of standard operating procedures; recording, reporting and learning from adverse incidents; participation in continuing professional development and clinical audit; and assessing patient satisfaction. This is an important part of our service as it ensures patient safety.

We are able to obtain your prescription from your GP via post, electronically or in person anywhere in the country. We are also able to obtain your prescription from you. We can dispense your medication for you once clinically checked and deliver it to you at your convenience free of charge.

We will accept any unwanted medicines from households and individuals which require safe disposal.

We will provide opportunistic healthy lifestyle advice and public health advice to our patients receiving prescriptions who appear to: have diabetes; or be at risk of coronary heart disease, especially those with high blood pressure; or those who smoke; or are overweight. We will pro-actively participate in national/local campaigns, to promote public health messages to patients during specific targeted campaign periods.

Under this service we will dispense repeat dispensing prescriptions issued by a GP and will store the documentation if required by the patient. We will ensure that each repeat supply is required and seek to ascertain that there is no reason why you should be referred back to your GP.

We will provide information to patients who require further support, advice or treatment which cannot be provided by the pharmacy, on other health and social care providers or support organisations who may be able to assist the person. Where appropriate, this may take the form of a referral.

We will help manage minor ailments and common conditions, by the provision of advice and where appropriate, the sale of medicines, including dealing with referrals from NHS Direct/NHS 111. Records will be kept where our pharmacist considers it relevant to the care of the patient.
