To stay healthy, adults should try to be active every day and aim to achieve at least 150 minutes of physical activity over a week through a variety of activities.
Public Health England launched the Active 10 campaign under the One You brand, which aims to encourage adults across England to participate in more physical activities which can be as simple as going for a brisk 10 minute walk every day.
A brisk 10 minute walk everyday has many health benefits such as improving your mood, energy and quality of life, increasing physical fitness and in some way may help towards lowering your risk of serious illness, such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
If you are interested in taking part in the Active 10 campaign activity, there is a free ‘Active 10’ app available to download. This app will show you how much brisk walking you are doing on a daily basis. It also provides tips and encouragements if you struggling to find the time to exercise.
